My favourite study spots in London

Staff writer Valeria Centola uncovers hidden study spots around London sharing some of her favourite finds !

In my first year, I struggled to find cafés in London that were not only cute but also quiet enough to study in. After living here for a few years, I’ve discovered some hidden gems I’d love to share with you.

1-Eve, Kensington

This secret find is easily my favourite cafè in London. It’s part of the Ember Locke Hotel, but you don’t need to be a hotel guest to visit! The coffee is fantastic, the space is filled with lush plants, and the large windows let in plenty of natural light. It’s the perfect spot to study—everyone here seems to be working on their laptop or reading, so it stays peaceful and quiet.

2-Wolfox at Loaft, Covent Graden

Located close to our Strand campus, this spot in Covent Garden is an aesthetic dream! Although the phone signal can be spotty, they offer reliable Wi-Fi, making it a great place to study or relax. I discovered it a few weeks ago and have been obsessed ever since.

P.S. You must try their matcha cookie— it’s to die for!

3-Dillons Coffee, Bloomsbury

This café is part of Waterstones in Bloomsbury, making it ideal for studying or reading. It’s also the perfect excuse to explore the bookshop or pick up a new vinyl, as the music selection is fantastic.

4-Miki’s Paradise, Holloway Road

I am particularly attached to this place as it was my go-to place during my first year while staying in nearby accommodation. It’s a cozy and welcoming space, and the staff is always friendly. They’re open until 8 p.m., which is great for those late study sessions since most London cafés close around 6 p.m. The brunch here is also amazing!
