Title Triumph Sparks Visionary Transfer Plans for Arsenal

Leandro Trossard's future at the club remains a mystery.

After a historic season that Arsenal Football Club have had, capturing their first Premier League title in 22 years and reaching the finals of both the UEFA Champions League and Carabao Cup, a significant summer transfer window awaits the club.

Monumental squad turnover is expected at the Emirates, with considerable expectations in both incomings and outgoings. Notably, the club is set to open formal discussions over a contract extension with manager Mikel Arteta, who is commencing the final 12 months of his current deal.

Strategic Incomings

Arsenal are set to initiate a permanent deal for Piero Hincapié in a signing expected to be valued around £45 million. Beyond acquiring the defender, the Gunners are scouring at least three further additions: a left-winger, a right-back, and a versatile central midfielder capable of playing both as a No. 6 and as a No. 8.

Securing a striker remains on the agenda, however, it is heavily dependent on transfer market opportunities and potential departures. Internal assessment acknowledges that while the current forwards achieved domestic success, it falls short of the elite performance of some Champions League contenders. Strengthening the attack is therefore viewed as crucial if Arsenal are to take the maintain their success.

Sporting Director Andrea Berta is leading Arsenal’s recruitment. Berta’s metholodolgy involves compiling shortlists for each position before conducting negotiations with multiple targets. This allows the club to weigh both the sporting and financial benefits of each deal before the process of a transfer.

Left-Wing Shortlist

Berta’s recruitment team has narrowed its focus on the wings, inspecting a coalition of dynamic forwards capable of playing across the pitch. The shortlist is reportedly as follows:

  • Barcola, Bradley (Paris Saint-Germain)
  • Ndiaye, Iliman (Everton)
  • Rogers, Morgan (Aston Villa)
  • Yıldız, Kenan (Juventus)
  • Yılmaz, Barış Alper (Galatasaray)

While Yılmaz’s addition from the Turkish Süper Lig might surprise some, Arsenal scouts have observed the Turkish international meticulously. Talent spotters have noted his physical versatility, work rate, and output. Yılmaz’s historical experience playing as both a full-back and a wing-back aligns further with Arteta’s demand for flexibility.

The security of any shortlisted candidates will require immense capital, with valuations estimated at £50 million, and Premier League-proven options commanding fees peaking in excess of £80 million.

Midfield Reconstruction

The midfield remains a priority, with Arsenal ready to invest in a player who can effortlessly switch between defence and box-to-box duties. The following names under consideration include:

  • Fernandes, Matheus (West Ham)
  • Tchouaméni, Aurélien (Real Madrid – rumoured)
  • Tonali, Sandro (Newcastle United)
  • Valverde, Federico (Real Madrid – rumoured)

Right-Back Reinforcements

Defensive signing has swung towards the right-back position. Ben White’s injury-plagued season has forced the club to search for reliable replacements. Definintive While definitive deals are currently unclear, Newcastle’s Tino Livramento has remained a potential candidate.

Striker Strengthening

In the market for a complete centre-forward, Manchester City’s Julián Álvarez represents the golden signing for the North London team. Additionally, the club is tracking Lorient’s prodigy Eli Junior Kroupi, although any interest in the teenager could be complicated by his present club’s European qualification status.

Expected Outgoings

To fund this ambitious reconstruction and meet financial regulations, Arsenal are prepared to sanction multiple departures if valuations are agreed.

The club is reported to be listening to offers for a prime group of first-team players, including the following:

  • Jesus, Gabriel
  • Martinelli, Gabriel
  • Nørgaard, Christian
  • Ødegaard, Martin
  • White, Ben

Indications suggest that Arsenal would be willing to accept offers in the region of £18-20 million for Gabriel Jesus to lower the wage bill. Meanwhile, Leandro Trossard is also vulnerable to departure, as the Belgian forward enters the final period of his contract, the summer signifies Arsenal’s last opportunity to order a sizeable fee.
