Staff Writer Raza Mirza documents the recent pop-up poster sale at The Shack that appeared on the Strand Campus on Monday.

From 11:00 to 16:00 on 19 October 2026, a pop-up poster sale appeared unexpectedly inside the Shack. There had been no prior promotion on social media. The event was organised by On Campus Art, an organisation known for going to UK campuses and selling affordable poster art.

The event was marketed exclusively with large yellow signs laid out all over the Strand Campus, leading into the cafe. Initial signs between Bush House and the King’s Building showed off many posters, ranging from pop stars to racing drivers.

The sale itself included a huge variety of boxes with posters from manga, film, sports, music, video games, art and comics and as well as messy tables of random posters for people to browse. They also included huge 5 foot posters in large displays all for the same price as the smaller ones at £7 each with £10 for frames.

Though the event was short, its turnout was definitely sweet, with dozens of people coming throughout the day with much of the attention emerging through word of mouth. This led to a successful event that allowed this week at KCL to start with a reminder of the artistic creativity that so many of our students find interesting.
