The van driver arrested following a fatal collision that killed one King’s student and injured two others has been released on conditional bail, the BBC reports.

The driver, a 26-year-old man, was arrested yesterday at the scene on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and drug driving.

The incident occurred on 11:41 A.M. GMT outside Bush House.

The police have ruled out that the accident was terrorism-related.

One of the injured persons was a King’s student who is currently receiving intensive care.

Upon the request of the family, the student who died remains anonymous.

King’s College London has confirmed they were registered to the Faculty of Natural, Mathematical and Engineering Sciences (NMES).

Flowers commemorating the students are being laid outside St Mary Le Strand. A candle lighting memorial organised by students was held this evening.

Roar has reached out to the Met Police for an update on the conditions of the driver’s bail.

If you have been affected by these tragic events, you can book an appointment with King’s Faculty Wellbeing Advisors or access support from the Chaplaincy.
