KCL vs UCL Hockey live coverage

Hi I am Richan Drever and I will be doing live coverage of KCl vs UCL Varsity hockey. I will be covering both mens and womens matches with women kicking off at around 18:15.

All to play for!

The women’s match has been a tesne affair so far with both sides having near misses. However, Kings has really controlled posession and seem to be on the forefront. Not too long now before the first goal!

0-0 at half time

It’s been a cagey affair so far with close misses from both teams. However, it is clear that kings has been the dominant side

UCL draw first blood

Completely against the flow of the game, UCL managed to scramble in and place it in the corner. There is still time to turn this around though as the crowd cheers on the team.

UCL score again.

The momentum has seemingly shifted with UCL managing to breakthrough and slot it in again. This means it is currently 2:0 UCL.

Final result of the women’s match: 2:0 to UCL

As the women’s match draws to a close, Kings finds themselves on the losing result. After a well fought match where they did have a majority of the posession, it seemingly wasn’t enough. The ladies have made KCL proud and can go home knowing they left everything on the pitch.

And we are off again!

Now its time for the mens match which has astarted in a firery manner with both sides already agressively others throats.

UCL start early

UCL open the flood gates at the start with a quick goal but there it is still early days with a lot of time to go. Kings can turn this around, especially with the immense support from the crowd.

Another goal from UCL

UCL score again with another corner after a spell of Kings excellence. This doesn’t mean the end as the boys are definately showing they have enough ability to turn this around.

Amazing save from Kings!

Another UCL attack was thwarted by the keeper with an absoultely excellent save, keeping the lads in the game.

It’s only getting worse

UCL prove again that the C in their name stands for corner as they score from one yet again. The score is 3:0 but the lads are still standing their ground and fighting.

UCL score again

The less the said, the better.

4:0 to UCL at half time

The game hasn’t gone our way so far with UCL dominating. But, a comeback is always on the cards and the lads have shown they have the grit for it. Potential remontada?

The comeback is on!

After a serires of nice counters, the boys are finally successful in transition and slot one in. The momentum is with us now and hopefully they can carry on this form.

Maybe I spoke to soon…

UCL manage to weave their way through again and score another, taking the score to 5:1.

Another one

6:1 UCL. Not a brilliant day at the offcie

7:1 to UCL

When will this stop?

Final Result of the men’s match: 7:1 to UCL

The scoreline doesn’t fully represent that match today as the lads fought that hearts out and held their heads till the end. UCL might as well have been called Arsenal with most the goals coming from set pieces. It may have ended in a dire fashion but at the end of the day, sports is always unfair and you might just have to take it on the chin. They will be back for vengence next year.
