Year of Utopia Launch

Get yourself down to the courtyard between the Strand Campus and Somerset House bright and early next Monday morning for the exciting launch of Utopia 2016.

In honour of the 500th anniversary of Thomas More’s seminal work Utopia the King’s Cultural Institute, the Courtauld Gallery and Somerset House have collaborated on a series of exhibitions and events. To celebrate More’s vision of society, a series of artists have prepared an array of exciting events. From the an insight into the graffiti of London, to a collaboration with London Fashion Week, to film-screenings and computer games projects, this year of Utopia seems to have something to please everyone.

9.45am on Monday 25th January will see the raising of the Utopian flag over Somerset House, accompanied by a fanfare specially composed by the National Youth Orchestra – perhaps the perfect way to escape last week’s exam stress as the new term begins!
