King’s Sports Update: KCL Fencing Club 24/10/2022-07/11/2022

KCL Fencing Club Secretary Liam Danthanarayana reports on how KCL Fencing Club have been doing over the last few weeks in their BUCS matches 

Week commencing October 24th

Women’s 1s beat Imperial 2s 135-54
Women’s 2s beat Essex 1s 128-107
Mens 2s beat Kent 2s 135-104

Womens 1s Team

Overall we had a great Wednesday of BUCS league matches for the club. Mens 2s and womens 2s had their first victory, whilst both travelling away. Our women’s 1st team remain top of the league!

Week commencing October 31st

Mens 2s

Women’s 1s beat league rivals Queen Mary’s to stay top of the division in a gruellingly close match where scores were tied 120-120 but our women’s team won overall as they had won more weapon categories (2 out of the 3).

Women’s 2s took a tough loss to Imperial losing by just 4 points overall 119-123. They continue to stay competitive in their league!

Men’s 2s lost to Imperial as well 92-131, our teams go again next week! Not long until our Mens 1s league games resume as they look to take the premiership title.

Week commencing November 7th

Womens 1s Team

Women’s 1s continue their winning streak by beating Essex 1s away from home 135-52. Remaining top of the table, title hopes are looking strong!

Meanwhile our Women’s 2s and Men’s 2s played both Kent 1s teams at home. Unfortunately, our W2 lost 102-134 and M2 lost 99-135, respectively.
