It is a truth universally acknowledged that playing dress-up begins at age 5 and never truly ends. Roar Editors are no exception to this rule. And what better time for dressing-up is there than Halloween, that time of the year when it is socially desirable to walk around looking like a Tim Burton film character?

Here are the costumes that our editors would wear on the night when tricks are the sweetest treats:
Irina Anghel, Deputy Editor:
“Last year I went as Mathilda from Léon: The Professional. Round dark shades, a wig a bit like my hair but shorter than I dare cut it, a striped T-shirt, shorts and leather boots – I’ve decided this what I want my alter ego to look like. If only I had a pound for every time people said “I don’t know who you’re supposed to be, but you look coolâ€.”
Mathilde Betant-Rasmussen, Comment Editor:
“My favourite Halloween costume is probably the Devil look (I’ve had the red horns headband from age 5) or Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction or Veronica from Heathers… But my friend just bought a pumpkin costume and I think that’s the real winner.”
Philippa Knipe, Comment Editor:
“My dream Halloween costume would have to be the clown Pennywise from It. The whole clown craze is terrifying and this one would definitely get some hearts pounding!”
Will Nestor-Sherman, News Editor:
“Now if you (like me) want to spend as little as possible on your costume and still have something that accommodates the Halloween spirit, then you can’t go too wrong appearing as a white masked psychopathic killer. Wearing all black with your white mask, you have a costume that is as eerie as it is simple. Here’s Johnny!”
