UPCOMING EVENT: ‘Human Writes’ – SLAM poetry evening

KCL English Pen Student Group presents ‘Human Writes – A SLAM
contest in celebration of World Poetry Day.’

Established three years ago, the KCL group have held letter-writing campaigns, produced a play by a PEN
writer and hosted reading events at The Gallery Café. The Poetry SLAM will be
hosted by Joelle Taylor (The Poetry Society) and the evening will commence with
performances by London poet Femi Martin and KCL’s very own Megan Beech.

This will be followed by the SLAM contest aka a Literary X-Factor, where willing
contestants compete against each other to be voted champion wordsmith. Come
along and join us for a boisterous, nail-biting, evening of entertainment, whether
you choose to perform yourself or participate as an active audience member in
judging the brave versifiers!

And, if you can’t make the 21st March please feel free to come along to one
of our next group meetings where we’ll be looking forward to our next KCL
English PEN project. If you value freedom of expression and are passionate about
literature then KCL English PEN is looking for you! For more details email
or find us on facebook at: http://www.facebook.com/
