Bomb Scare Causes Commuter Chaos Near Embankment

A bomb was dredged up in the River Thames this evening, causing Waterloo Bridge and Westminster to be closed off.

The suspected Second World War bomb, previously lying dormant in the river, was found near the Victoria Embankment.

Shortly afterward the Metropolitan Police cordoned off the busy London areas to deal with the findings.

Despite the closures causing major disruptions for commuters this evening, the police insist the road closures are for the safety of the public. They advised the commuting public to “bear with us” in a recent update.

Whilst the item is assessed, it is expected Waterloo Bridge and the river between Charing Cross and Westminster will remain closed.

Whether this will continue to cause issues for Londoners tomorrow is still uncertain.
